Actress Juliet Ibrahim Holds Kidney Awareness Walk in Lagos

Thursday 9 March, sultry actress Juliet Ibrahim engaged friends, colleagues and the general public on a walk through some major streets of Lekki, Lagos to commemorate the World Kidney Day.
The walk was to join in the global health awareness campaign which focuses on sensitising the world on the importance of the kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems.
At the Awareness Walk tagged #Move4Kidneys, some celebrities including Gbenro Ajibade, Iceberg Slim, Moses Sneeze Inwang , Isaac Geralds, Mr. Tourism Nigeria 2016 and the JCI Eko team among others, participated in the walk.
Also in attendance was Dr. Ufuoma of Diamond Helix Medical Assistance, who was on ground to educate people on everything they needed to know about kidney diseases, causes and prevention as well as carry out free screening.
“Knowledge they say is power! Let’s educate the nation because early detection saves lives,” Juliet said.
Usually celebrated on the second Thursday in March, the mission of World Kidney Day is to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.
The Juliet Ibrahim Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on creating awareness on cancer, kidney related diseases, malaria, HIV/AIDS, Ebola and other diseases.
The foundation also provide necessary interventions to ensure a society free of such issues in Africa.
Juliet decided to concentrate on this humanitarian work after she had to care for two of her aunts who suffered from kidney-related ailments.
