BBM Launches DiscoverTV in Nigeria

Posted on May 4, 2017

BBM has announced the launch of yet another amazing new content offering for the Nigerian market,  easily found within the BBM Discover menu.

DiscoverTV is a mobile streaming service that allows BBM users to watch a wide variety of award-winning short form shows selected from a diverse range of mobile movies, channels, cartoons, and documentaries.

DiscoverTV includes various content categories all under one roof, so there is no excuse to miss the entertainment.

There will always be something new to discover with more shows and channels added every month.

DiscoverTV is offered free for the first month for all BBM users, after which a nominal daily rate (soon to be announced), is charged for unlimited access to your favourite channels (excluding data).

Wide Range of Content

DiscoverTV is for everyone, whether you’re interested in soccer, kids, animals, food, cars, celeb, life, planet, extreme sports and home fitness.

This new video content accompanies BBM’s existing content and services offered in Nigeria including News, Quickteller Airtime Top-up, Paycode (ATM & POS), Channels, Subscriptions and Stickers.

Commercial Free

BBM understands that one of the most disrupting factors for a mobile user is the commercial that pops in between mobile video clips, especially when data is used to stream them.

DiscoverTV is 100 per cent commercial free and all clips can be viewed in their entirety without any annoying interruptions.

Entertainment Anywhere & Anytime

BBM users can stream DiscoverTV anywhere, be it over Wi-Fi or your mobile network.

Anyone can simply download BBM for free via the App Store or Google Play, register your details and explore the content and services within the Discover menu.

This easy-to-use interface integrated into BBM Discover, means it has never been easier to enjoy the best entertainment wherever you are.

Africa – a Growth Market

BBM has identified Africa as a priority focus and will continue to roll out new features for BBM users across the continent.

Africa counts a staggering 1.13 billion mobile subscriptions, making it the world’s second largest continent in terms of mobile subscriptions, second only to Asia.

BBM is one of the largest mobile messaging applications in the world.

Since it was created in August 2005, BBM has evolved from a pure messaging application for communication (text and video) to a social ecosystem unifying chat, social, commerce, services and content including bill payment, top-up, vouchers/coupons, games, video, shopping, travel and polls.
