Emmanuel Ikubese, Doris Simeon, 10 Others Unveil As ‘Celebrity Housemates’ In New TV Show

Reality show lovers in Nigeria and other parts of the world are in for a good time as a new reality TV show called, ‘Celebrity Housemates’, is scheduled to hit the television screens from January 12 to February 11, 2018.

Unveiling the new show themed, ‘Convergence of Culture, Lifestyle & Entertainment’, in Lagos on Wednesday, Kemi Otegbade, Executive Producer of the show, said “Celebrity Housemates” is not going to be like the regular shows but specifically geared towards promoting peace and unity in the country and to also bridge the negative perception and showcase strengths of Nigeria and Nigerians.

According to Otegbade, there will be 12 celebrity contestants, drawn from the six geo-political zones as well as selected across the spheres of the Nigerian entertainment industry of Comedy, Movie and Music.

They are actor and model Emmanuel Ikubese, actor Yomi Fash Lanso, comedian cum actor Funky Mallam, actress Doris Simeon, rap star Ruggedman, music diva Muma Gee, actresses Ada Ameh, Peggy Ovire, Eniola Badmus, Bolanle Ninalowo and Ogenna Ekwubiri, and actor Frederick Leonard.

They will be camped in a plush, beachside mansion inside Amen Estate in Lekki, Lagos and placed on series of challenges and tasks daily. The tasks will make the contestants prove their entrepreneurial acumen while in the house for 30 days.

“We are using this show to converge the Nigerian cultural values with the ideal lifestyle of celebrities and entertain Nigerians in an educating and exciting way. We have been working on the content format and I can assure Nigerians of an engaging and exciting experience on television and online when this show comes on TV and we can also confirm that it will be a yearly feature on our Television,” Otegbade explained.

The content of the show will focus on lifestyle, interpretation of culture, special games, entertainment and educational driven tasks among others.

Other top notch celebrities and role models in the society will visit the house to relate with the housemates and share ideas on projects, careers and entrepreneurial achievements.

Also speaking at the unveiling, Sola Fajobi, CEO, Dope Media and the show’s consultant, said each week, viewers will be given opportunity to vote for their favourite celebrity, while the contestant with the weakest votes will be evicted.

“A start studded party will be thrown in the house every weekend to celebrate the end of each week and to encourage more bonding among the contestants. The party promises to be fun as other celebrities will be brought into the house to party with the contestants,” Fajobi said.

The last celebrity standing will go home with a cash prize of N7 million while the remaining contestants will go home with various cash prizes.

Also N2 million will be donated to two charity homes by the winner and selected viewers will have a cash of N1million going to them.

Celebrity Housemates Show will be streamed live for 24 hours on all scheduled online media platforms, while it will also be shown for one hour daily on national terrestrial TV and cable stations.
