A 19-year old son, Faruq Oke, has reportedly engaged his father, Kabiru in verbal war in prison custody over the paternity of a 13-year old girl they allegedly raped and impregnated in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Faruq was angry with his father, Kabiru and had expressed shock that his father was secretly also sleeping with the victim which had worsened the whole matter.
He was said to have verbally attacked and blamed the father for the mess they found themselves in and lamented that the matter would have been a little bit easy if he was the only person involved.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the father was said to have claimed the pregnancy while the son believed he actually impregnated her. They were said to have engaged in heated argument and the prison officials were forced to separate them to avoid physical fight.

The Police in Lagos had arrested Kabiru, 44 and his son, Faruq, 19, for allegedly raping the 13-year old girl and eventually impregnating her. The incident happened at Olatikpo Street in Egbeda, Lagos, where they reside with the victim.
On March 27, 2019, the Command’s Gender Section received a complaint of defilement of a minor reported by the mother of the minor (name withheld) against the husband of her elder sister Kabiru Oke of No 1 Olatikupo Street, Egbeda and his son, Oke Faruq of the same address.
The Police PRO, DSP  Bala Elkana, explained that the victim (name withheld) lived with the alleged perpetrators for a couple of years. He said that the unholy affairs between the minor and the first suspect reportedly started on 20th October, 2018, with the suspect having constant sexual intercourse with the victim. The second suspect, being the son of the first suspect, started having unlawful carnal knowledge of the same minor on 10th January, 2019.
The suspects reportedly constantly threatened to kill the victim if she ever told anybody about their affairs when the father and son realised that both of them have been abusing the victim.
However, the victim exposed them when her mother suspected some changes in her and eventually discovered that she was pregnant.
He said the victim was later taken to Mirabel Centre by the Gender Unit of the Police Command for medical examination.
Based on the report, the two suspects were arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court presided by Mrs. S.O. Osunsanmi for defilement of under aged girl.
The prosecutor, Supol E. Ayorinde, asked the court to order for the DPP’s report to determine their fate as it involved a minor. It was gathered that the matter may be referred to the High Court if the DPP’s report finds them culpable.
Thus, the Court directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for the report of the DPP to be ready while the father and son were remanded in Kirikiri Prison where the fight ensured.
