Landlady Burgles Tenant’s Apartment, Convert Property For Her Use

A landlady Mrs Uche Obiaguim has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly breaking into her a female tenant’s apartment, Patience Godwin and carted away her property and converted it to her own use.
The incident happened at 10 Victor Enuka Street, Bucknor Estate in Ejigbo, a suburb of Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the tenant, Patience became a victim after she fell sick and traveled to her hometown for treatment.
According to their neighbours, the landlady reportedly did so as she was heard saying that Patience will never survive her ailment and come back to the house.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered from both parties that the tenant actually paid for one year rent in January 2017 before she travelled and the rent will elapse by December 2017.
She then removed her (Patience) properties and rented out the place.
The properties, the police recovered from the landlady were mattress, generator, fan, rug, kitchen utensils among others.
However, the tenants survived and came back and saw that her apartment has been rented to another tenant.
The matter was reported to the police at Ejigbo division who arrested Obiaguim and charged her before Isolo Magistrates court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.O Ogbe granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail.
The matter was adjourned till 19 July 2017.
