A 14-year old girl has allegedly been raped and reportedly impregnated by a 34-year old man, Quaseem Olayinwola, in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in Ayobo area of Lagos where both the victim and the suspect reside.
It was gathered that the suspect lured the victim to a popular hotel known as Olubar, engaged her in marathon sex that lasted for three months and all the while warned her not to tell anybody about the romps and she kept it to herself.
However, her body suddenly changed, her parents suspected her and took her to an undisclosed hospital. At the hospital, the doctor conducted a test on her and reportedly confirmed that she was pregnant.

She was then asked who was responsible and she mentioned Olayinwola who admitted that he slept with her but did not know that she could get pregnant because of her age.
The matter was reported to the police at Ayobo Division and the suspect was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command. While there, he also admitted having sex with her but pleaded to be allowed to take care of the victim and the baby.

However, the police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for rape and impregnating an under aged girl.
The court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol E. Ayorinde, informed the Court that the victim was a minor and would need the DPP’s advice on the matter.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 10th April, 2019, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and he will be tried for rape and jailed accordingly.
