Married Man Arrested For Alleged Impregnating Teenager, Attempts Illegal Abortion

A 30-year old married man, Samson Adeyemo has landed in trouble after he allegedly impregnated a 17-year old teenager (name withheld) and gave her N20,000 to abort the pregnancy to cover up the act from his wife.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Adeyemo was arrested and charged before a Lagos court for rape and attempts to carry out an illegal abortion.
He was remanded in prison custody.
The incident happened at Deborah Ajampale Close, Beckley Estate off Abule Egba, Lagos where both the defendant and the victim’s parents reside.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Adeyemo was secretly sleeping with the victim despite the fact that he was married and had kids.
He was said to have lured the victim with gifts and took her to an undisclosed location where he severally had carnal knowledge of her and warned her not to tell any one including her parents.
This went on until Adeyemo eventually impregnated her.
It was gathered that when the victim became pregnant and informed Adeyemo, he allegedly gave her N20,000 to carry out the abortion to terminate the pregnancy.
The victim was said to be afraid to do so because of the danger she envisaged and then informed her parents what happened.
The matter was reported to the Police at Iso Koko division and Adeyemo was arrested and detained at the Station.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that at the Station, Adeyemo admitted of sleeping and impregnating the victim and offering her the money to abort it.
He told the police that he did so because he was married and needed to protect his marriage.
Adeyemo was charged before Ogba Magistrates court with rape and attempt to carry an illegal abortion.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Davis Abegunde granted him bail in the sum of N 500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 26 June 2017.
