Prophet Arrested Over N8m Deliverance Fee Scam

General Overseer and founder of a church,  Set Captive Free Ministry, Prophet Samuel Ndukwu has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly obtaining N8 million from his church member, Uche Nwoke under the false pretense of delivering him from family curses.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that instead of a deliverance, things turned into calamity as Nwoke’s two children died the same day while Ndukwu disappeared.
He was said to have and ran to Port Harcourt, River State where he was eventually arrested and brought to Lagos.
Ndukwu was arraigned before Isolo Magistrates’ court where he is now facing charges of obtaining under false pretence, stealing and threat to life of the victim.
He has been remanded in prison custody.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Ndukwu prophesied to Nwoke that there was a family curse that was hindering the progress of his family members and there was need for the family to carry out deliverance to upturn the hindrance.
He assured him that after the spiritual deliverance, all the things the family members lost in the past because of the curses will be regained and directed him to bring the money for the deliverance work.
It was gathered that Nwoke sold all he had and gave the money to Ndukwu who performed some purported spiritual deliverance rather situation turned worse leading to the death of Nwoke’s children.
Nwoke asked to know why things turned out like that instead of getting better, the Ndukwu said he did not know what happened.
He then requested the refund of his money but Ndukwu threatened to wipe out his family if he dare asked for the money again.
The matter was reported to the Police and Ndukwu fled before he was arrested and charged to court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr Oje Uagbale did not object to his bail and asked court to give bail condition that will enable the defendant to come to court for trial since the defendant no longer live in Lagos State.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr O.N. Ogbe granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ndukwu was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 26 June 2017.
When P.M.EXPRESS contacted Ndukwu, he said he hails form Oboro in  Ifakala town in Mbaitolu Local government Area in Imo State.
He said he started his Ministry some years ago and have church branches in Port Harcourt in River State, Enugu and Nnewi in Enugu and Anambra States before he was arrested.
