Robbers may have probably devised another method to deal with people for keeping money in banks instead of their homes by forcing victims to drink deadly insecticide known as Sniper in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that one of the victims, Musa Samuel, of No.12 Ashade Street, Igboelerin area of Lagos is now battling for survival after he was forced to drink the poisonous substance.

One of the suspected robbers, Solola Tobi, was later arrested by the operatives of the Anti-robbery Squad, FSARS, Lagos Command. He reportedly confessed that it was the new method they adopted to deal with victims who preferred to keep money away from their homes.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Tobi, 47 and others at large on 20th January, 2019, invaded the area with charms and ‘Sniper’ to rob the residents. Those who kept money and valuable items were robbed while those who had nothing were forced to drink the substance.
The victim, Mr. Samuel, was among those who had nothing in his house and was forced to drink the substance but God saved him after he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

However, the police got intelligence report and moved into action; they arrested Tobi while trailing the other suspected robbers at large.

After interrogation, the police charged Tobi before the Ogba Magistrates Court for armed robbery and attempted murder by forcing one Musa Samuel to drink an insecticide.
The court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, told the Court that it was a case of armed robbery and attempted murder which needed the DPP’s advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered Tobi to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 4th April, 2019, for the report of the DPP to be ready.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that if the DPP finds Tobi culpable, the matter will be transferred to the High court for his trial.
