Robbers Invade Fast Food Joint, Rob Customers

Police operatives from the Ikotun Division led by CSP Emmanuel Onah, have repelled an attack and arrested two armed robbers, who invaded the popular Opeyemi Fast Food joint and robbed customers of their belongings.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Governor’s Road in Ikotun area of Lagos, where the joint is located.

Two of the suspects namely Bashiru Yahaya, 22 and Afeez Azeez, 23, were arrested while other suspects escaped and were said to be at large.
It was gathered that the armed bandits stormed the place with their guns, surrounded the place and started disposing customers of their personal effects including mobile phones.
The information got to the DPO, who mobilised Police officers and stormed the scene. The robbers escaped but the Police succeeded in arresting the two suspects, Yahaya and Azeez.

After interrogation, they were charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conspiracy and armed robbery.
The pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP because the defendants went to the place with arms and robbed the victims violently.
Some of the victims robbed included Juliet Ajuokwu, Favour Aigbochie and other customers, and they lost valuables worth over one million Naira during the operation.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade, remanded them in prison custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 21st October, 2019.
