The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has announced names of media professionals to support  the various National Sports Federations.

Sequel to a successful conduct of boards of the sports federations, the Minister, Barrister Solomon Dalung approved a list comprising 31 members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN to be attached to the various associations as ASSOCIATE Members .

According to Barrister Dalung their appointment is in recognition of SWAN as one of the stakeholders in sports.

“This is in recognition of SWAN as a critical stakeholder in the implementation of the ongoing reforms in the Nigerian sports sector and promoters of sports development in the country.

“The various National Sports Federations are therefore encouraged to give them every support to ensure a harmonious working relationship. The appointed SWAN members are to help in the building of sports through the promotion of various projects of the federations especially grassroots sports development.

“However, it should be noted that as Associate Members, you have no voting rights and your addition does not in anyway alter the membership of the boards as contained in Section 2.1 and 2.2 of the National Sports Federations Electoral Guidelines. I hereby congratulate you all.”
