Why We Disrupted The Primary Election – Ademola

Posted on May 8, 2018

I have read reactions and counter reactions of the people as regards the cancelled APC Primary Election which was held on Saturday, 5th May 2018 at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.

Putting the records straight. I took that action to save the future of Ekiti people and also the face of the party from the implosion and the crisis that might have erupted which may be beyond control, based on the obvious malpractices occurring during the electioneering process.

I hold all the 33 governorship aspirants in high regards and I make bold to say that nobody sent me, but the reflex action was because the electoral committee weren’t playing to the laid down rules agreed upon by us (the State Chapter of the APC) and the governorship aspirants.

Rather than addressing the cause of the disruption, I have read some aspirants engaging in blame games. I am not a thug as some were made to believe from some segments of the media. I am the Central Senatorial Youth leader and an executive  member of our great party, the APC.

Those that makes peaceful negotiations impossible makes violent ones inevitable. I have challenged severally why the accredited delegates were allowed to roam about outside of the stadium when they actually haven’t voted. I questioned why an aspirant would have more agents than the other. I questioned why the security officers were not armed while protecting the ballot boxes. I questioned with no answers why people went to the booths with their phones to snap, probably so that they can collect balance of their financial inducements from the aspirants.

All these are against the process to a free, fair and credible election.

Conclusively, I want to apologise to those that might be disappointed with my action, there was no better way the process could have been halted for a correction, other than that.

Please accept my apologies. But in actual sense, the message has been passed that institutions can be challenged for a reformation.

I once again pledge my undiluted loyalty to our great party, the APC, our leaders HE Otunba Niyi Adebayo, HE Engr. Segun Oni (APC Deputy National Chair-South), HE Dr. Kayode Fayemi (The Honorable Minster of Solid Minerals), Senator Babafemi Ojudu (Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters), High Chief Jide Awe-led State Excecutives, and all the 33 aspirants.

Be rest assured that I shall do more within every legal and moral means in ensuring that APC wins the 14th July 2018 election.

Long live our great party, the APC!

Adeusi Ademola a.k.a Oosha
APC Youth Leader, Central Senatorial Youth Leader.
