Woman Turns To Man At Police Station

Police operatives at Olosan Division, Mushin area of Lagos, have arrested a notorious woman known to beg on the streets but she turned out to be a 29-year old man, Victor Monday, at the Police Station.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Monday, was seen begging along Ogunmokun Street in Akala area of Mushin, where he dressed up as a woman and was constituting nuisance on the street when the DPO, SP Ayodele Arogbo, led a team of Police officers on routine monitoring and arrested her.
Monday reportedly wore a woman’s skirt, blouse and wig while putting on ladies footwear as a woman. He was said to have claimed that her husband abandoned her and their children and needed assistance from members of the public to take care of the children.
However, the mild drama started at the Police Station when he was about to be taken to the female cell for detention and it was discovered that he was a man. The Police then compelled him to remove his wig and clothes and discovered he had attributes of a man including private part.
During investigation, the suspect, Monday, confessed that he actually employed the strategy to ask for alms from members of the public and it was working before he was eventually arrested.
After interrogation, the Police found Monday culpable and later charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and obtaining money from the public pretending to be a woman.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Koti Aodohemba, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.I. Tanimola, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 21st October, 2019.
