100 Days In Office: 150 Women Graduate From Idemili South Skills Acquisition Programme
In a bid to tackle unemployment among women, Idemili South Local Government under the leadership of Hon.(Mrs.) Amaka Obi (Iyom Idemili), has trained over 150 women in skills acquisition programme.
While speaking at the graduation event held at the council secretariat, Hon. Obi reiterated that the government is tackling unemployment through different skills acquisition.
In her words; “Any education that cannot earn a living will make such person live in poverty”.
She also stated that Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, wants all youths to be lawfully engaged as an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.
Also speaking was All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for House of Representatives, Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu (Onyechimelu’eze), stated that human capital development is his topmost priority. He acknowledged Idemili South Local Government Chairperson for the wonderful opportunity given to umu nwanyi Idemili South and he supported the beneficiaries with start-up equipments to be self-reliant.
Hon. Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Patrick Aghamba, lauded Idemili South Local Government.
All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for House of Assembly, Idemili South, Barrister Ebuka Igwe, also applauded Hon. Amaka Obi (Iyom Idemili) and pleaded umu Idemili to continue supporting APGA for more development and empowerment.
“You are the first Local Government Chairman to organize skills acquisition program and it is inline with the Governor’s policy” he stated.
Managing Director/Statistician General, Anambra State Bureau of Statistics Hon. Obiora Obiabunmo, Head of Service Lady Amaka Nkemdili, Party Chairman Sir Joe Ezeanya (Nkwuata), Idemili South Stakeholders, PG’s were present during the graduation.
