15 Years After, Eboh Bomb Rolls Out Drums To Celebrate

Posted on October 9, 2025

Just like yesterday, October 26, 2025, will make it 15 years that popular Nigerian comedian, Michael Oghenerukevwe Eboh aka Eboh Bomb climbed the stage and began the journey into the laughter world.

And it has been 15 years of challenges and successes. So, the Mainland of Lagos state will be shut down, literally, when the Urhobo, Delta State comedian, will mark his decade and half on stage with an elaborate event scheduled to hold on October 26 at the ultra modern Zigi Lagos Lounge, Zukada Close off Shasha, Akowonjo, Lagos beginning from 5pm.

“Why am I celebrating my 15 years on stage as a stand up comedian? It has been 15 years of ups and down and we are still standing strong,” Eboh Bomb said in a statement made available to the media by his Management team.

Top Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun aka AY discovered Eboh Bomb when he won AY’s comedy talent hunt competition 15 years ago.

“And since then, I have been doing my shows. After having a successful run on AY Live hosted by my boss, AY, I produced my first solo show in 2019 titled “Explosives” at Festac, Lagos Nigeria. I organised another edition in 2021 in Benin, Edo State and hosted a second edition of ‘Explosives’ in 2024 in Lagos.”

Aside making people laugh, the comedian said he also owes the society the duty to correct societal ills using his jokes as tool.

“I am a professional Nigerian comedian in the business of making people happy through the creative delivery of jokes on the stage, television and online. But while making people laugh, I use the same weapon to correct societal ills. That is why my jokes are unique. When I tell a joke about Nigerian landlords for example, people laugh, but in between, they learn some things about how landlords behave. The joke is also tailored to make the bad landlords change their ways as well as informing government authorities to step in to curb their excesses. That is the kind of comedian Eboh Bomb is.”

The show tagged ‘Eboh Bomb Live: 15 Years On Stage’ is a bumper package that will according to him feature both the young and old generation of music and comedy artistes.

“The likes of Danfo Drivers, Konga, Lyta, African China, Mr. Dolor, who broke the Guinness world records for the comedian that performed for 60 hours non-stop, among many others, are going to be part of the show. My boss AY has promised to show his love and the father of Comedy in Nigeria, my father, Ali Baba, who is always readily available for us younger comedians will likely turn up for me like he has done for me and other younger comedians in the past. I can assure you that October 26, 2025 will be a day to remember not only in Lagos but across Nigeria.”

The Eboh Bomb Live… will be the first show that the newly renovated Zigi Lagos Lounge will host.

“Zigi Lagos Lounge is about the best lounge and dancing restaurant as well as hotel & suites and event venue on the mainland of Lagos at the moment and I am excited that the management has agreed to be our host for the Eboh Bomb 15 years on stage,” Eboh Bomb said.

Reception from potential sponsors and supporters, according to the comedian has been encouraging. “Zigi Lagos Lounge is our partner and we have other sponsors also. However, there is still time for other corporate bodies and brands to come on board,” he submitted.
