An 18-year-old man, Aliu Adamu, has landed in trouble after he allegedly attacked and bit off the finger of a 50-year old man, Yautai Adamu, staring at his mother in a rather suspicious manner.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Mairawani in Jambutu, Yola North LGA of Adamawa State, where they reside.
The suspect, Adamu, was arrested and subsequently charged before the Jimeta Area Court II in Yola North on a three-count that included assault and causing grievous harm.
His arraignment followed his arrest by the Police after he confessed to have committed the alleged offence hence he was charged accordingly.
He pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Corporal Ismail Mohammed, told the Court that the offences to which the defendant had pleaded guilty contravened Sections 240, 241 and 217 of the Penal Code.
Mohammed told the Court that the victim was on his way out of his apartment on Sunday, 4th December, 2022, when he ran into Aliyu Adamu and his mother. When Aliyu turned round and noticed Yautai staring at his mother, challenged him. But without waiting for any answer, rained insults on him, leading to physical exchanges, which resulted in him biting off the tip of Yautai’s right forefinger.
The Presiding Judge, Hon Muhammad Lamurde, ordered his remand in prison custody and adjourned the matter till 3rd  January, 2023, for facts and sentence since he pleaded guilty.
