2 Computer Village Traders Docked For Stealing N50m Phone Accessories

Two traders at the Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos, Chubueze Udeh, 24 and Uche Williams, 30, have landed in trouble for allegedly stealing phone accessories worth N50m belonging to Benjamin Innocent Nwodo in the market. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in October, 2023 at Ola-Ayeni Street, computer village, Ikeja Lagos.
The suspects allegedly stole the items, bolted away and disconnected every form of communication to reach them.
However, the matter was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division. The Police operatives trailed, eventually arrested and detained them at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
The Police found them culpable after interrogation and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Chubueze Edeh ‘m’, Uche Williams ‘m’ and others now at large, sometime in the month of October, 2023, at No. 6, Ola-Ayeni Street, computer village, Ikeja Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire with others now at large to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Chibueze Edeh ‘m’, Uche Williams ‘m’, and others now at large, on the same month, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal different varieties of phone accessories value N50,000,000.00 (fifty million Naira only) belonging to one Benjamin Innocent Nwodo ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Uche Williams ‘m’, and others now at large, on the same month, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did receive different varieties of phone accessories value N50,000,000.00 (fifty million Naira only) from one Chibueze Udeh ‘m’ belonging to one Benjamin Innocent Nwodo ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 328 (1) of Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
