It was the end of the road for some robbery suspects and peace may have  temporarily returned to the residents of Ajegunle in Lagos following the arrest of two deadly motorcycle armed robbers, Adeniyi Alabi, 34 and Lekan Olawore, 32 during an operation in the area.
The suspects were said to have been terrorizing the residents over a period to the extent that the residents thought they were invincible owing to the manner they usually escaped.
However, they were eventually accosted and arrested during an operation at Turner Street, Amukoko area of Ajegunle, Lagos, where the gang went to rob with a locally made gun.
They were said to have pointed the gun at a woman,  Haliimah Ajayi and robbed her of a phone and were escaping before the residents mobilized and apprehended two of the suspects while others escaped.
During the operation, the Police recovered the gun as exhibit and they were taken to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, for interrogation over their conduct.
During the interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to be armed robbers and that the other members of their gang managed to escape during the operation.
The Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy and armed robbery under the Criminal Laws of the State, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
They were arraigned before the Court and later remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, following the order of the Court.
