2 Men In Prison Over Attempt To Cut Off Neighbour’s Legs With Cultlasses

For threatening to involve police over disagreement ,two suspected members of a cult group, Elu Uche, 18, and Obafemi Afolabi, 18, have attacked their neighbour, Babatunde James with cutlasses and attempted to cut off his legs.
The suspects have been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for assault from where they were remanded in prison custody.
The incident happened at Lanre Towobola close in Awori area of Egbeda, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered the suspects threatened to cut off James’ leg before he would go to the police station to report them.
On that fateful day, they acted true to their threat. They reportedly went to their rooms, brought out cutlasses and inflicted cuts on their victim’s leg and other parts of his body before running away.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in his pool of blood by their neighbours.
P.M.EXPREsS gathered that the residents had earlier suspected that the suspects were members of a cult group but had no prove until this incident happened.
The matter was reported to the police at Idimu division. They were trailed and eventually arrested and taken to court.
At the Ejigbo Magistrate’s court where they were arraigned, they pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in the like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when their bail will be perfected.
The matter was adjourned till 27 February 2017.
