2 Of Notorious Land Grabber, Alhaji Owoeye’s Hitmen Arrested For Attempted Murder

It appears there is no hiding place for the notorious suspected land grabber, Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye and his gang, who led armed thugs to cause havoc at Isheri Oshun area of Ijegun in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that while Alhaji Owoeye was said to have gone into hiding, two of his hitmen, Christopher Kundo, 27 and Tunde Kazeem,19, have been arrested by the security operatives for alleged attempted murder and malicious damage of properties worth N50m by violence.
The Police alleged that the suspects and others now at large conspired and attempted to murder one Alhaji Tajudeen Opebiyi and his brothers at Fagbile Phase Three in Isheri Oshun area with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons.
While Alhaji Opeyibi and his brothers escaped, Alhaji Owoeye armed men attacked another victim identified as Matthew Monday and inflicted injury on his face and handed to the Police operatives from Area E, FESTAC Town, one A.Y. who works at the site as labourer after planting gun bullet inside his pocket.
Having been found culpable, the two suspects, Kundo and Kazeem, have been charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
When they were arraigned, they pleaded not guilty.
The prospector, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a short adjournment for hearing to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence which brought them to the Court.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K. M. Ariyo, granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 26th April, 2022.
Alhaji Owoeye landed in trouble for allegedly causing havoc by attacking innocent people and destroying properties at a parcel of land located at Ijegun and Isheri Oshun communities belonging to the Fagbile family and which was sold to some people to develop.
He allegedly recruited armed thugs led by their gang leaders, Kayode Johnson shodeide a. k. a Ikoko, Nasiru Ibrahim aka Otunba, Ibrahim Deway, Muri Jorsto and others, who went to the place with machetes, charms and other dangerous weapons to attack land owners, injuring many and destroying many properties worth millions of Naira before taking possession of their land by brute force. .
