Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers, Daniel Ojoh, 20, and Kudus Ahmed, 27 and recovered their charms and guns during the operation.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as disclosed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed that the suspects were in Police custody undergoing interrogation over their criminal conduct.
He explained that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) with two locally made guns and charms during their routine monitoring in Lagos State.
SP Hundeyin stated that the suspects were arrested during separate incidents in the Lekki and Ojota areas of the state based on credible information from members of the public.
“Upon receipt of credible information from the public, Daniel Ojoh was arrested at his workshop in Alagutan on Saturday, February 18, 2023, and a locally made gun with two live cartridges were recovered from him.”
“Kudus Ahmed was arrested underneath Ojota Bridge at about 4:00pm on Sunday, 19th February, 2023, after he was stopped on suspicion by RRS bike riders on patrol. A locally made gun and charms were recovered from his bag.”
Both suspects are currently assisting the Police in ongoing investigations.
The RRS Commander, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, while urging the officers to intensify patrol of the state, directed that the suspects be transferred to the Command Headquarters for further investigation and prosecution.
The suspects may be charged for armed robbery and illegal possession of arms, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court. But that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
