Pastor, 60, Arraigned For Allegedly Raping Lady, 28, During Deliverance

A 60-year old clergyman, Pastor Ajayi Femi, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly administering a poisonous substance on a 28-year old lady, she became unconscious and he raped her during deliverance. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 22nd August,2025 at Baale Street, Meiran area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the Pastor was arrested by Police operatives from Meiran Division and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for the alleged rape following a report by the victim’s sister.
The complainant stated that she received a call that her younger sister was at the hospital and on getting there she discovered that Femi Ajayi, who claimed to be a Pastor, met her at lleiwe Bus Stop, where she was doing POS where he collected money from her.
During the transaction, he told the victim that she needed to do some spiritual work for deliverance and told her to bring money for spiritual work on her.
The victim believed him and gave him N40,000 for the spiritual work.
The supposed Pastor was said to have prepared some poisonous concoctions and gave her to drink. She took, became unconscious and he took advantage of her state and had sexual intercourse with her.
However, trouble started after the intercourse as he was unable to revive the victim and he rushed her to an undisclosed hospital, where what transpired between them got exposed.
Thus, the matter was reported to the Police, who found him culpable after interrogation and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
Part of the charges read:
“That you, Ajayi Femi ‘m’, on the 22nd day of August, 2025, at about 1200hours, at No. 18, Baale Street, Meiran Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did rape the victim f 28years old by having unlawful canal knowledge of her without her consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 260 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II: “That you, Ajayi Femi ‘m’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did direct and administer substance which made the victim to be unconscious and you took advantage of her and had unlawful canal knowledge of her and thereby committed an offence punishable unnder Section 128(b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria,2015.”
COUNT III. “That you. Ajayi Femi ‘m’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did maliciously administer poison to the victim with intent to harm her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 243 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT IV: “That you, Ajayi Femi ‘m’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did unlawfully obtain the sum of N40,000.00 (Forty Thousand Naira) from the victim under the pretence of doing cleansing after forcefully having unlawful canal knowledge of her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 314(b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
