2 Suspected Members Of Human Trafficking Syndicate Arrested For Abducting Girl, 12

Two suspected members of a human trafficking syndicate, Joseph Jimoh, 45 and his female colleague, Helen Bada, 55, have been arrested for their allegedly abducting a 12-year old girl, Kindness Anyigor, in Lagos State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Police operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department arrested the suspects after they conspired and abducted the victim in Ejigbo area of Lagos for an undisclosed mission.
However, before they would achieve their aim, they were apprehended by the Police at Ejigbo Division on a tip off and transferred to the State Police Command in Ikeja, Lagos, for further investigation over their alleged conduct.
The purpose of abducting the victim was not disclosed by the Police but the victim’s parents suspected that they abducted the victim either for prostitution or ritual purposes.
However, after interrogation, the Police found them culpable for the alleged abduction and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy and abduction, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Ex. Kubenije, granted them bail in the sum of N250,000 each with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 26th June,2024, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
