Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested two suspected thieves, who allegedly burgled a school and carted away some properties before they escaped.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects,  James Chinagorum, 26 and Humble Stephen, 29, were arrested after they invaded SilverDale High School located at Akinrilo Street, Alaguuuntan Bus Stop, Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos and stole the items, which included a power generating set, fan, laptops, cylinder and others worth N960,000.
The management got to the school and discovered that it was burgled with the items stolen. They went to the Police and reported the theft.
Thus, the Police moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy and stealing.
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor,  Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to bring witnesses to testify to prove that they actually stole the items.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
