2 Teenagers Arraigned Over Gang-Rape Of Girl,12

Two teenagers, Alex Anthony, 18 and Abraham Etim,18, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly gang raping a 12-year old girl and defiling her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 28th January, 2026, at Apostolic Close, Off Jayeola, Shasha area of Lagos, where the victim resides with her parents.
According to the Police, apart from gang raping the victim, they allegedly stole N350,000 and a phone belonging to the father of the victim before they escaped.
The matter was reported to the Police at Shasha Division and the operatives moved into action. They arrested the suspects, Alex Anthony of Oremeji Street, Shasha and Abraham Etim of Anjorin Street, all in Shasha area of Lagos, where they reside with their parents.
The Police at Shasha Division later transferred the matter to the Gender Section of the State Command for further investigation over their alleged conduct against the complainant and the victim.
After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for  conspiracy, defilement and stealing under the Criminal Law of the State.
The charges read:
“That you, Alex Anthony ‘m’ and Abraham Etim ‘m’, on the 28th January, 2026, at about 1400hours, at Apostolic Close, Shasha area of Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit defilement and thereby committed an punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Alex Anthony ‘m’, on the same date, time and place in the  Magisterial District, did forcefully have sexual intercourse with the victim ‘f, 12years old and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Alex Anthony ‘m’, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal the sum of N350,0000. 00 (Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) and one Tecno phone valued at the sum of N160,000.00 (One Hundred and Sixty Naira) from the victim ‘f, 12years old, property of her father ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under a) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, Abraham Etim ‘m’, on the same date time and aforesaid Magisterial District, did sexually assault the victim by kissing her mouth and touching her body and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 263/1/2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie ,asked the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
