2 Teenagers Sent To Prison For Stealing N10m Caterpillar Generator Parts

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested two teenagers, Taiwo Olaleye, and Adebayo Adura and charged them for allegedly conspiring and stealing N10m worth Caterpillar Generator parts.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Old Abeokuta Road, Agege area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the two teenagers conspired with others now at large, stole the items and escaped in the morning of 11th February, 2024.
However, the act got exposed after the owner of the items, Akinwande Bamidele, discovered that they were missing and he went to the Elere Police Division to report what happened. The Police moved into action, eventually arrested the two suspects and detained them at the station for interrogation over the missing items.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, granted them bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 13th March, 2024, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody pending when they will perfect their conditions.
