Residents of four Kaduna communities have benefitted from a two-day free medical outreach and telemedicine deployment organized by 24Telemed Limited in collaboration with the Bose Rahila Adamu Foundation and NatureVantage Healthcare Resources Limited.

The outreach, which took place on September 20 and 21, covered Barnawa, Shagari Housing Estate, Kakuri Village, and Television Village, where hundreds of residents received essential medical services, free medications, and vital health education. The exercise was designed to restore dignity, provide relief, and remind participants that their wellbeing remains a top priority.

During the programme, beneficiaries underwent blood pressure and glucose checks, alongside other basic tests, while consultations were provided by volunteer medical professionals. The exercise also featured robust health education sessions and mental health awareness campaigns conducted by partnering organisations such as The Smiles Concepts Foundation and The ZenHub Mental Health Initiatives.

In his opening remarks at the commencement of the outreach, Mr. Charles Orji, Director of Operations at 24Telemed Limited, expressed gratitude to the Bose Rahila Adamu Foundation, NatureVantage, and the host communities for their partnership in the initiative. He noted that the programme reflects 24Telemed’s mission of bridging critical healthcare gaps, especially in underserved areas, and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to expanding access to affordable and quality healthcare across Nigeria.

On his own part, speaking during the outreach, the District Head of Barnawa, Muhammad Kabir Zubairu, hailed the programme as a significant contribution to his community. While commending the organisers for prioritising the health needs of ordinary people, he urged both government and non-governmental organisations to intensify support for community healthcare, particularly in the provision of hospital facilities and medical personnel. He also advised residents to take their health seriously by seeking professional care whenever necessary and adhering to medical advice.

For many of the participants, the outreach was a timely and life-changing intervention.

Reacting, one of the attendees, Nana Aisha Musa, described the initiative as impactful and inclusive, noting that both men and women received adequate attention during the exercise. She prayed for God’s blessings upon the sponsors and asked that more doors of funding be opened so that more communities could benefit from such benevolent programmes in the future.

The two-day outreach, according to the organisers, is part of a broader drive to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery and to leverage telemedicine as a tool for bridging the gap between patients and qualified medical practitioners.

This reporter gathered that by integrating technology with traditional healthcare outreach, the organisers hope to make quality healthcare more accessible, affordable, and sustainable for vulnerable communities.
