The Police intelligence team in Lagos has arrested three suspects, who allegedly conspired, sold dead man’s properties and shared the money among themselves while the wife went for her husband’s burial.

The suspects, Shola Fafunwa, 60, Kikielomo Olugbemi, F, 50 and Olaitan Fatoki, 56, were nabbed to explain how they got the documents of late Ganiyu Musa, who died and they hurriedly sold his properties at Ayobo and Ijegun area of Lagos and shared the money.

When the wife, Mrs. Mistura Musa, returned from the burial, she was told that the properties of her late husband had been sold and she should relocate to another place while being threatened with charms to kill her.

But the matter was reported to the Police at Ayobo Division, who moved into action and investigated the transactions to ascertain what really happened.

During investigation,  it was discovered that they forged documents in order to sell the houses and they had already share the money.

They were rounded up and charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy, forgery and stealing under the criminal code of Lagos State.

They pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Kehinde Ajayi, asked for adjournment for the Court to commence the trial to enable the Police to prove that they committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Ajibade, granted them bail but directed them to be in the Correctional Centre pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till a later date due to regulations on Covid-19 in Lagos State which has stalled the hearing.
