3 Men Remanded In Custody For Sexually Assaulting Girl, 16

Three men, Ahmed Azeez, 39, Rasaq Ayuba, 36 and Ogunyemi Oluwagbeminiyi, 36, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly touching the buttocks and breasts of a 16-year old girl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects have been arrested and charged for the alleged sexual assault.
The incident happened on 14th July, 2024, at Ibeji Lekki area of Lagos, where they reside.
Azeez and Ayuba were charged for touching the girl’s buttocks while the third suspect, Oluwagbeminiyi, was charged for touching her breasts.
The alleged assault was reported to the Police in the area before they were arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged sexual assault.
However, they pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
Thus, the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji  asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted them bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 10th October, 2024, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
