3 Security Guards Docked For Stealing Madam’s N106m Foreign Currencies, Jewelries

Three security guards, Mohammed  Idris, 35, Amos Isaac, 20, and Bala Musa, 35, have been arrested and charged for allegedly breaking into their Madam’s apartment and carting away foreign currency and jewelries worth N106m in Ibadan, Oyo State.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports the suspects were arraigned before the Iyaganku Chief Magistrate Court in Ibadan on three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary stealing under the Criminal Laws of the State.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Maaruf Mudashiru, did not take the defendants and ordered them remanded at Agodi Correctional facility, pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

 

The matter was adjourned till 5th May, 2025, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.

During the hearing, the prosecutor, CSP Samad Aliu, told the Court that the defendants committed the alleged offence on 14th December, 2024, between 12.00 a.m and 6.00 a.m. in Ibadan.

According to him, the defendants broke into the dwelling place of the complainant, one Mrs. Mary Adejumo, and stole a set of gold jewellery, a set of diamond jewellery, four wristwatches and two laptops, all valued at N108.6 million.

Mr Aliu said the defendants also stole two Nigerian International passports, two British passports and a bag containing $5,000, £1,000 and €200, property of the complainant.
He said the offences contravened  Sections 390(9), 411 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

 

The defendants may likely bag several years of imprisonment for the alleged offence if they are tried and found guilty before the Court.
