A female lawyer, Barrister Golda Osuigwe, has attempted to take her life by jumping from a moving car after her husband, Barrister Paul Osuigwe, who is also a lawyer, chased her and her children away from her matrimonial home in Lagos, western Nigeria.
Though she did not die, she sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital where she was under intensive care unit to save her life.
The mother of four attempted to kill herself after her husband chased her and her children from their family house with cutlass.

The incident happened at their family home located at Awoyaya area of Lagos.
Apart from chasing her away, her husband allegedly went to the private school she was running and chased away all the students and shut the school.
Following the development, the family court  sitting in Magbon in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos, has remanded Paul in Ikoyi Prisons for one month without an option of fine for contempt by using cutlass to chase the victims despite the court order for both parties to maintain peace.
Both Golda, who hails from Onitsha town in Anambra State, met Paul from Orlu in Imo State, in the university where both studied law.
After their graduation and youth service, they got married 14 years ago and have four children.
According to Golda, she took almost the whole responsibility to take care of the family to give Paul time to settle down and be able to take care of the family.
She alleged that when fortune started smiling on Paul, he started misbehaving and refused to care for his family except outsiders.
She said when she alone could not bear the burden of taking care of the family, she went to the Lagos welfare department and reported the matter.
She said Paul’s attitude towards the family did not change and the welfare officials took both of them to the family court to resolve the matter.
Golda said when they got home from family court, Paul brought out a cutlass and chased them away.
She said Paul also went to her private school and chased all the students away and shut the place.
Golda said she decided to take her life due to the frustration occasioned by her homelessness and begging for food for her children.
Earlier, the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.O. Adedoja, had restrained Paul from molesting Golda and the children pending the determination of the suit filed before the court.
Instead of complying, when they got home, he allegedly attacked Golda and threatened to kill her if she and the children did not leave.
When the court was informed aboutthe latest assault, Paul was arrested and arraigned in court where hewas found guilty of contempt and sentenced accordingly.

Golda, you should have tried acting since I know law was not for you. Moving vehicle. Ko, intensive unit ni. Lies and lies will get you no where, Golda. God is on the throne, that is why Paul is still alive after several attempts on his life by assassins you sent. Your wickedness is grave and you will reap it. He did nothing to you but to love and provide for you and the children. You are a devourer. No weapon you throw at him will prosper. The cutlass you carried to kill him? You turned the children to lie against their father. You will surely reap what you sow. Golda, leave him alone and stop this malicious attempts to malign his character.
