Shell MD, Aiboni Commends Lagos Women Run Organisers

The first woman Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company Plc, Mrs. Elohor Aiboni, has sent messages of commendations to the organisers of the of the only women run in sub-sahara Africa, the Lagos Women Run, headed by Ms. Tayo Popoola.
The Shell Petroleum Plc boss, expressed her delight on the professional manner the run was conducted, much all activities of the event went on perfectly from the start point at the Funsho Williams Avenue, in Surulere to the finish line at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
She said: “There was a television monitor of the race stationed at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena that caught all the actions of the women run. Here, I saw dedicated women ran a 10kilometre race with total resilience, dedication, commitment and determination to win. Which tells a lot about the true life activities of hard working Nigerian women in all spheres of life. From the family to professional activities, administration and service to humanity, women have always distinguished themselves.”
The Shell Petroleum Development Company Plc MD, who was dressed smart in a black T-shirt over black track down with a black canvass to match ready for the activities of the Lagos Women Run as a Special Guests of Honour, was elated at the wild celebration and continuous applause given her by the over 2000 women runners at the finish point, during the presentation ceremony as she was ushered to the podium as the first woman Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Plc.
Obviously moved by the accolades, she promised to join the other runners in the 2022 edition of the Lagos Women Run as a competitor.
“I promise to join you to run next year. I was encouraged seeing women who are over 50 years old run the 10kilometre course at their own pace. I will do the same in the next edition of the women run, since I am not yet 50 years old I have a better chance to finish well.
“The Lagos Women Run is very important as women run against Human Trafficking of the Girl Child, Violence against women and the emancipation of women in the society. These are very important reasons to run a 10kilometre race,” Elohor Aiboni said.
