VC Leads LASU Delegation To Igbogbo As Special Adviser On Education, Wahab Bags Award

Senior officials of Lagos State University, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, on Saturday joined other members of the higher institutions fraternity in Lagos State to celebrate with the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education, Barr. Tokunbo Philips Wahab, as he received the Adeboruwa Special Award from the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali.

Mr. Wahab’s award was one of the highlights of the grand finale of the 2021 Igbogbo Day celebrations and 5th Coronation Anniversary of the monarch.

While presenting the award to him, traditional rulers present praised the Ketu Epe born lawyer, Barr. Wahab, for his exemplary leadership and giant strides in the education sector of Lagos State. They said the sons and daughters of the Igbogbo Kingdom have benefited greatly from his leadership.

“This is a call to service for me. It is a call to do more. I thank the Governor for deeming me worthy to serve and for giving me the opportunity to flourish”, he said in his response, while thanking the LASU VC and other heads of tertiary institutions in Lagos State who had come to felicitate with him.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Adenike Boyo; Acting Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Fanu; Bursar, Mr. Said Olayinka and University Librarian, Dr. Emmanuel Lai Adebayo, alongside senior aides of the VC were all at the celebration to support a man who has done so well for the University.

Mr. Tokunbo Philip Wahab, a lawyer with no less than 20 years experience, was born on 17th May, 1972 and is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the Wharton University of Pennsylvania.
