Posted on December 31, 2021

The Catholic Church yesterday honoured Chief Lady Ngozi Umeoji (Adagbodu I of Ezinifite Aguata), mother of the parliamentarian representing Aguata Federal Constituency in the Green Chambers, as MATER-PROFUNDITAS in recognition and celebration of her charitable life that has impacted positively on people across Anambra and Nigeria.

Bishops and Priests of the Catholic Church across Nigeria, who were on ground to celebrate with the family, prayed and poured ecclesiastical blessings on Lady Ngozi Umeoji for her unprecedented works of charity, which had no boundary.

Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, in his vote of thanks, described mothers as the pillar of the family and eulogised his loving mother, as an enigma, who was able to unite all her eight children from their time as little kids to their present stage. Hon Umeoji noted that the pillar of their family is founded on charity, which originated from their loving mother and Late father (Sir Andy Umeoji).

“My mother’s work of charity is unprecedented; she gives without any expectation, her work of charity knows no bound. My mother, our mother, is many things to many people but amongst all, she’s an embodiment of hope and the Mother Theresa of our time. She is committed to giving out and has taught us the children how to give. My mother, ADAGBODU I, is the last person that will stop anyone from giving out. It is to the glory of God that we are celebrating the coronation of MATER-PROFUNDITAS, which is simply a metaphor for giving at this time of the year designated for giving and sharing love.”

Amongst the top guests were the Royal Fathers of Ezinifite and Amesi, Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Bishop Peter Okpaleke, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Bishop Godfrey Onah, Rev. Marthins Ezeukwu, Rev. Anslem Umerum, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor ably represented by Rev Fr. Daniel, Rev Fr. Prof Chiedoka the Vicar General of Ekwulobia, Rev Peter Akenyi, Vicar General of Awka Diocese, Rev. Fr Charles Umeoji amongst other Priests and Monsignors, who participated in the ecclesiastical mass.
