ABAT Movement Donates Food Items To Orphanage, Says Mandate To Help The Needy

Posted on January 4, 2022

The Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement (ABAT) on Tuesday donated food items to two orphanages in Lagos State.

The movement, which said the gesture is part of its efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the less privileged in the society through its food initiative for the needy across Nigeria, made the donations to the Love Home Orphanage, Shangisha, and Hearts of Gold Children’s Hospice, Surulere.

Presenting the items, the Secretary to the group, Alhaji Lateef Ibirogba, said the donation was in fulfillment of the movement’s tenet to carry out charity work to assist the less privileged and needy in the society.

“The Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement is a group that is doing everything possible to ensure that the national leader of our great party, the APC, contested the forthcoming presidential election and take Nigeria out of the doldrum.

“It is also a movement that has a mandate of reaching out to the less privileged and the needy and play roles for the reduction of poverty in the society.

“These kids that we have come to visit today are our children and we are here to identify with them. We felt the need to carry them along in the merriment of the new year. I’m very happy with what I saw here today. This is a conducive environment for the kids to grow and become better in the society.

‘I pray that they will grow up to be useful to the society and those with disabilities overcome it,” Ibirogba prayed.

The Director of Admin, ABAT Movement, Hon. Ahmed Ipoola Omisore said the essence of the group’s visit to the orphanage homes was to identify with the children and make them happy.

“They are our children and we want to make them happy. We have been to many homes and we are equally here to put smiles on their faces. If our own children could be at home enjoying the new year, they deserved similar treatment too,” Ibirogba, a former Commissioner for Information in Lagos State, said.

Receiving the items, Onasanya Oyetoke, a social worker and manager at Love Home Orphanage, thanked ABAT Movement for identifying with the orphans and expressed happiness over the gifts.

“This kind gesture means a lot to us and we are not taking it for granted. We really thank you for identifying with the children at this time. God bless the giver of these items,” he said.

Joke Bello, a nurse with Hearts of Gold Children’s Hospice, received the items on behalf of her boss, Mrs. Theresa Omolaja Adedoyin.
