SammieFaze Calls On Nigerian Youths To Participate In Grassroots Politics

United States-based Nigerian singer, songwriter and philanthropist, Samuel ‘Faze’ Ukpo has called on the Nigerian youths to take more active roles in politics.
He made the call during an instagram live session announcing the upcoming release of his new single.
“Back pedaling in politics or acting nonchalant doesn’t help the youths in the corridors of power. We currently lack adequate representation in government and we are the ones who suffer the economic hard times the most,” SammieFaze said.
Samuel went further to say that getting involved in governance is the only way the youths can ensure they partake in decision and policy making in the country.
He however pointed out that though everyone cannot become members or belong to a political party, or run for elective office, voting is the constitutional right of every eligible Nigerian citizen.
SammieFaze stated that the only means for the youths to ensure that only qualified candidates are voted into elective positions come the 2023 election cycle is by registering and acquiring the permanent voters card.
SammieFaze recalled the sad episode of the end sars protests in 2019 when the youths urged the government to revamp several of its policies especially those that aren’t favourable to the youths.
“The easiest way for the youth to become equal partners in the political process is to register as card carrying members of political parties” he reiterated.
“It is the only way we can be positioned to vie for some key elective offices,” he further added.
Samuel ‘Faze’ Ukpo popularly known as SammieFaze’ is a Boston, Massachusetts based Nigerian artist.
He is one of the upcoming afrobeats artists in Boston.
His new single “Body Riddim” is scheduled for release in April 2022.
