What you are seeing here is not Abuja, Lagos or one of oil rich states. This is Kaduna State. Over the years, the state’s governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has proven not to be just a leader but a developer. The moment he assumed office as the governor of the state, I had no doubt that he will leave a lasting legacy for Kaduna people. His records while he was the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory still speak volume. In fact, Abuja metamorphosed to what it is today due to the uncommon policies executed by Mallam when he was the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

The major reason I admire him is his relentless spirit to deliver good governance regardless of obstacles that may exist. As a sincere leader, he acknowledged that there are cases of insecurity in the state but he never allowed such to distract him from delivering quality governance to his people. He is also working relentlessly to end the insecurity which if compared to what the state experienced before he resumed office as governor, has reduced.

Other governors especially those from South Eastern part of the country should emulate El-Rufai and justify their positions as governors. They should also learn to only invite a President for projects commissioning when they have laudable projects delivered across various parts of their states by their administrations. Enough of invitations for commissioning of one or two projects! We need an overwhelming development.

Moreover, it is important to note that apart from the Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, who has delivered some laudable projects despite the state’s limited Internally Generated Revenue, no other South East governor can boast of executing a quarter of projects El-Rufai did in the past eight years. In fact, South East governors should hide their faces in shame. If Mallam can do these in midst of insecurity, what excuse will the governors of South East give for not justifying the offices they occupy despite enjoying a more peaceful environment?

Note that majority of road projects executed by El-Rufai are dual carriage ways which despite the large land mass of Kaduna, cut across many communities and towns in the state unlike the usual poor one lane short roads our governors execute. This is indeed a big challenge to the leaders of South East.

The attached pictures of projects, which have been commissioned by President Buhari included; Remodeled Murtala Muhammad Square, Kawo Flyover, Infectious Disease Hospital, Mega Basic Education School, Rigasa Road, Aliyu Makama Road, Leventis road & Underpass, Queen Elizabeth Road, Umaru Musa Yaradua Way, Sabon Gari Modern Market, Kawo Bridge and Circular Road. Also commissioned by the President was Dangote Peugeot Automobile Assembly Plant. Note that there are other roads and projects being executed by the Kaduna State Governor that shall be completed soon.

In conclusion, I am glad that the Governor-Elect of my dear state, Anambra, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, is a good friend of Mallam El-Rufai. I’m also happy that the Chairman of Prof. Soludo’s Transition Committee, Dr. Mrs. Obiageli Oby Ezekwesili is a good friend of Mallam and that they worked together to deliver uncommon policies that reshaped Nigerian economy during the regime of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Therefore, it is my belief that regardless of party or ethnic differences, Soludo’s administration will work closely with notable leaders like El-Rufai and other developmental experts regardless of where they come from to give ndị Anambra the best. It is my belief that Prof Soludo does not have any excuse to fail and that in no distant time, Anambra will become the Light of the Nation.
