Robbers Raid Lagos General Hospital To Rob Patients

It was shocking for the residents of Mushin, Lagos after the report of an armed robbery attack at the General Hospital by robbers who attempted to rob patients on admission and those out-patients receiving treatment.
The robbers were said to have invaded the General Hospital located at 48, Oliyide Street in Mushin at about 1:45 am in an attempt to carry out their nefarious acts.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that they could not achieve their aim due to the presence of security men on duty who saw them and raised alarm.
During the confrontation, one of the suspects, Saheed Bakare was arrested while others escaped.
Bakare, who refused to disclose the identity of other members of his gang, has been charged before a Lagos court for alleged attempting to commit felony under the Criminal Code.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered from the police sources that Bakare reportedly climbed into the Hospital through the fence before the security men raised alarm and arrested him while his accomplice ran away.
It was reported that Bakare had already jumped into the premises of the Hospital but was helpless and was not able to jump back before he was held by the security men on duty.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Bakare was tied on both hands and legs till morning before he was taken to Olosan Police Division in Mushin.
At the station, he reportedly confessed that his gang intended to rob patients in the Hospital, but he refused to reveal the real identities of the other suspects.
He was charged before Ogba Magistrates court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Code.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr M.K.O. Fadeyi granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Bakare was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 15 June 2017.
