After several years of waiting for their own Table Tennis Hall, Osun State finally got theirs on Saturday, thanks to the benevolence of the chairman of the state Table Tennis Association, Mr. Ayo Alabi.

And nobody is more excited about the birth of the edifice than the coaches who ran out of words on Saturday to capture their mood.

From an observer’s perspective, their mood was pure ecstasy. They explained to PM Express why they were so excited.

Head of the Coaching Department, Osun State Sports Council, former national player, Abiodun Soyemi said the Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial Table Tennis Hall has taken a lot of burden off the shoulders of the coaches and the players.

According to him “Before now, we were training our players at a facility in Olorunda Local Government Council.

“Consider the logistics and stress of moving there.

“Now, we have this world class facility and it’s all ours. We just can’t thank Mr Ayo Alabi and his wife enough for providing the Hall for today’s players and future generations.

God will bless him and his entire household.

The Table Tennis head coach, Saka Suraju said Osun State would sooner rather than later alter the Table Tennis status quo in the country.

He enthused ” With this magnificent Hall at our disposal, we have no reason not to rule Table Tennis in the country.

“I am sending this message out to other states that Osun State will never play the second fiddle again in Table Tennis because our time has finally come”.

He thanked Mr. Alabi for providing the facility and also a visionary leadership as chairman of the Osun State Table Tennis Association.
