Obi’s Presidency Will Move Nigeria Forward – Ekwunife

Following the commencement of the primary election to nominate candidates for various elective offices across the country by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has decried the increased untold economic hardship facing the country, adding that Nigeria needs Peter Obi as the president come 2023 general elections for the country to experience rapid economic growth.
Ekwunife, who spoke on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Senator Uche Ekwunife Event Centre, Awka, during the emergency meeting conveyed for all PDP aspirants in the state reiterated that Obi is an Idea whose time has come. She noted that the party’s National delegates from the state should as a matter of urgent national public interest vote for the former governor of Anambra state at the upcoming Presidential convention and also reach out to their friends from other states to queue behind Obi. She stressed that Peter Obi is a beautiful product everyone wants to buy.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation described Obi as an aspirant who has shown more depth in understanding Nigeria’s economy and more resolute to resolving the Nigeria leadership deficiencies.

Whilst commending the leadership of the National working committee led by Sen. Iyorchia Ayu for their firm commitment to resolve the lingering issues facing the Anambra state chapter, the federal lawmaker expressed that the party must resist the attempts by a few individuals to stagnant the progress of the party in the state.
In his speech, Hon. Chuchu Onyema appreciated Ekwunife for her steadfastness and interest towards conducting a free, fair and transparent 3-man delegates congress and primary election in the state. The federal lawmaker representing Ogbaru constituency further expressed confidence that the issues would be resolved.

In their separate remarks, the 2021 Anambra state PDP candidate in the state, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, Hon. Tony Nwoye and others commended the turn out of aspirants for the purpose of proffering solutions to the quagmire bedevilling the state chapter.

In a similar development, the federal member representing Idemili North and South, Hon. Obinna Chidoka, Hon. Chibuzor Udekigbo, Hon. Genevieve Ekwechi, Princess Niky Onyeri and others debunked in its strongest terms a publication making rounds on the social media that they signed a communiqué rejecting Senator Uche Ekwunife’s call for a meeting with aspirants for harmonization of 3-man delegates congress. They noted that the National working committee should disregard the communiqué and treat the people behind the dubious press release as impersonators.

Meanwhile, amongst the 144 aspirants who expressed interest to vie for different elective offices in the state, 128 of them attended the meeting and duly signed the communiqué in support of the meeting conveyed by Senator Ekwunife and as regards to the free, fair and transparent 3-man delegates congress in the state.
