$1Million Stadium: Buruj FC Acquires 3 Acres Of Land For Project, To Name Stadium After Rev Mother Abimbola Ajayi

Internationally recognized Nigerian based renowned sports outfit, Buruj Football Club/Academy, is poised to maintain their strides and lead in the Football Industry with their huge support for grassroots football in the country.

Following their quest to raise the standard of the game in Nigeria, the outfit came up with a daunting task to build an ultramodern stadium befitting its national and international presence, which we gathered will be named after respected philanthropist, Rev Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi (REAA Stadium).

Buruj Sports Academy was recently ranked topmost by the technical department of the Nigeria Football Federation for nurturing, developing and exposing raw talents to international standards and assisting in building their profile to attract foreign lucrative contracts.

The academy has represented the Nigeria and triumphed in International tournaments i.e. Double Champion of the English and Welsh Int’l Super Cup 2017 and 2018, and 2019 Runner up. Players, who graduate from the academy, has the opportunity of getting signed into the club (Buruj Football Club), where their professional career advancement begins having been registered into the FIFA Connect Platform, which automatically generates an ID that will serve as an identity through out the players career.

Players equally have the opportunity to raise their games by playing in the Third Tier Division of the Nigeria League System – Nationwide League One (NLO One), which further harnesses their profile to attract foreign clubs.

The sports establishment has taken a bold step in the actualization of its proposed $1 Million Stadium Project after purchasing 3 acres of land in a well grounded environment and its home base, Ogolonto Ikorodu, which will be used for the construction of the stadium.

The $1million stadium project will house a swimming pool, 5000 spectators capacity, changing room for two teams, tennis court, shopping mall, mini-mart, event hall, hostel, athletic track, clinic, and a learning centre that can be used as an annex to most tertiary Institutions within and outside the country.

The Club/Academy CEO, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed Buruj, explained why he decided to name the stadium after the highly personified clergy woman, Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi.

He said, “Mama is an outstanding individual, a lover of God with an impeccable personality”.

“She is someone, who loves to keep dreams alive. She has over the years supported our course spiritually and has also financially showered rains of millions fostering the academy/Football Club’s International outings and our purposeful drive to global rejuvenation ever since our encounter in 2017 playing the role of our Life Matron.”

“The Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II (Buruj FC/SA Life Patron), whom our sports outfit is proudly associated with, has been playing a fatherly role for the club beyond comparism. He was the one who handed us over to the Mother Theresa of the Universe in the United Kingdom at Shangri-La The Shard Hotel, London. That was the first time we recorded victory in our International outing and Mama was a heaven sent, and angel in human form as her hospitable character to all the players and officials cannot be over-emphasized.”

“It has been a driving force on my mind since our establishment owing to the daily struggles and hardship faced in the football industry in Nigeria, which includes lack of proper training facility, transportation which are the major fuel to the success of the business. Lack of all these basic amenities raise the expenditure of the club above the normal spending limit as using all the public facilities cost a lot of money per hour.”

“So having this stadium will serve as a relief to scattered talents within the ikorodu axis, Lagos State and the nation at large as this will keep them busy pursuing their dreams. The play and study initiative will be functional, which in turn reduces the crime rate and intake of hard drugs, which has become very rampant amongst youths of today.”

“With Almighty Allah on our side, I believe that this project, which we have started, will yield positive returns and also contribute immensely towards the economic growth and standard of Lagos State and Nigeria as a nation” Dr Salaudeen Waheed Buruj submitted.
