Ethnic Agitation Has Turned To Big Business In Nigeria- Hausa Community

The president of Arewa United Consultative Forum, Alhaji Ado Shuaibu Dansudu has said that agitation by some tiny groups calling themselves ethnic nationalities has now become a new business trend and warned Nigerians and the Federal government to be wary of such people because they want to use the opportunity to extort money from gullible victims.
Dansudu stated this on Monday at the palace of the overall Seriki, Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja in Baruwa area of Ipaja in Alimosho Local government in Lagos State.
The event titled “Hausa Community in Alimosho LGA lecture and Awards” attracted other ethnic groups comprising Yoruba, Igbo and others.
Dansudu who is also the vice president of Arewa Youth Development Association of Nigeria said Nigerians has been living peacefully until recently when some disgruntled elements in the society discovered they can make money through agitations and others followed.
He said ” when you go to the North, it is the minor set of people that are agitating for the North to separate from the rest of Nigeria for the purpose of their stomach”
In the east, some people said they want Biafra, yet the Igbos are buying land, houses, building factories on daily basis in other parts of the country and you say they want to separate.
He urged Nigerians to shun those agitators because they were targeting their money and government should not listen to them.
He advised that we should continue to live together as one nation and if there is any disagreement, we should sit down and resolve it and move forward.
The convener of the event, Seriki Kuraja in his remark said the event was marked to show the whole world that the Hausa communities were closed and were with other ethnic groups together in a united Nigeria.
He said that we should shun anything that will divide us and rather work closer towards doing things that will bring progress to the nation.
In the key note address delivered by Alhaji Ali Dinar who is the Dallantun of Agege themed Diversity, he stated that diversity is a veritable tool to improve peaceful co-existence, cultural and social-economic growth and development.
Dinar urged Nigerians to exploit the power of numbers which he described as a veritable tool to be maximized to translate into critical decision that will transform man from vulnerability to fortitude.
In the same vain, the Ezendigbo of Shasha Land, Eze Vincent Iwobi said that there was no need to agitate for break up of Nigeria because we need one another for success and progress.
He said every ethnic group has it own positive potentials and said when those potentials are brought together and harnessed, they will be for the betterment of the society.
Honorable Adebisi Yusuf noted that the event was significant as it witnessed the presence of other ethnic groups who agreed that we were better in a united Nigeria.
The event climaxed with the display of Hausa rich traditional dances, culture and awards to individuals from different ethnic groups who have distinguished themselves in their areas of endeavour.
