This was contained in the Petition to the Inspector General of Police by the victims through their lawyer, Barrister Cynthia Nwaokonkwo dated 19th July, 2022.

BACKGROUND
At about 8.00am on the 15th July 2022, our clients were in their home at 15 Oseyintola Street, Ifako-Ijaiye, Agege, Lagos, when Seven (7) heavily armed men with some of them dressed in jackets inscribed with the word FIB-STS barged into their abode and began to beat them saying that they came to search and investigate them for kidnapping.
Our clients demanded a search warrant and a means of identification from the officers, who began to beat our clients rather than respond. The Officers led by one Enobaghare Friday Curtis a.k.a Curtis Black, searched our client’s apartment, damaged his furniture and made away with the sum of $5, 000 in cash from the wardrobe of Mr. Showunmi Fatai Shina.
