Seven serving armed Police officers from FIB-STS have landed in trouble in Lagos State after they allegedly invaded the home of two victims, Showumi Fatai Shina and Oyeneye Samuel Toyosi, tortured them before stealing the sum of 5,000 Dollars and N1.7m, which they forced them with arms to transfer through POS.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at No. 15 Oseyintola Street, Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos, where the victims reside.
This was contained in the Petition to the Inspector General of Police by the victims through their lawyer, Barrister Cynthia Nwaokonkwo dated 19th July, 2022.
In the petition titled: “Re Assault, Harassment, and Extortion by some Police officers led by Enobaghare Friday Curtis a.k.a Cutis Black, General, FB and four others on the victims stated as follows:
“We act as legal representatives and retained solicitors to Mr. Showunmi Fatai Shina and Mr.Oyeneye Samuel Ttoyosi (hereinafter referred to as our clients), and on whose brief and instruction, we write to you.”
At about 8.00am on the 15th July 2022, our clients were in their home at 15 Oseyintola Street, Ifako-Ijaiye, Agege, Lagos, when Seven (7) heavily armed men with some of them dressed in jackets inscribed with the word FIB-STS barged into their abode and began to beat them saying that they came to search and investigate them for kidnapping.
Our clients demanded a search warrant and a means of identification from the officers, who began to beat our clients rather than respond. The Officers led by one Enobaghare Friday Curtis a.k.a Curtis Black, searched our client’s apartment, damaged his furniture and made away with the sum of $5, 000 in cash from the wardrobe of Mr. Showunmi Fatai Shina.
After searching our client’s apartment without any warrant and damaging his furnitures, they whisked our client away in his RX 350 Lexus vehicle and a Toyota Sienna bus in which they came in.
After our clients were whisked away from their home, they were separated into two vehicles, after serious beating and manhandling by the 7 officers.
They collected the phone of Mr. Oyeneye Samuel Toyosi and went through his bank transactions and when they saw the account balance of N1, 700, 000 (One Million, Seven Hundred Thousand Naira only) they began to withdraw money from his account using POS operators after forcefully collecting his ATM Card and pin number.
Below is the breakdown of withdrawals made by the officers from his Access bank account number 0800116257:
