To justify the huge sums of money allegedly obtained from Chief Sunday Ossai in order for him to be made the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, some members of the cabals have concluded plans to hire the Chairman of Ohanaeze Abia State, Paul Okechukwu, to come to Lagos to conduct another inauguration for Chief Ossai as President.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the first inauguration was conducted by Chief Oliver Akubueze before this second inauguration was planned and initially scheduled to hold on 3rd September but now shifted to 10th September, 2022, to enable Chief Ossai to raise the needed funds to settle the members of cabals and Okechukwu, who will be coming from the Southeast for the dirty job.

It was also gathered that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has three factions led by three leaders with three Presidents. The Nwodo faction met at Owerri and elected Prof George Obiozor as the President General, while Chief Uche Okwukwu’s faction met at Enugu and elected Chief Chidi Ibe as the President General and the Igwe Kelli Nkeli group had registered Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly with Barrister Basil Onyeacholam as its President General.

The factions led Ibe and Onyeacholam as Presidents declined to do the bidding of the members of the cabals on the ground that Chief Aguene has a subsisting Court Judgment, which empowered him as President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State.

The members of the Lagos cabals, who had conducted a kangaroo election after swindling Chief Ossai of millions of Naira, declared him as President and immediately did the first inauguration.

After Chief Ossai purported led executives was inaugurated, he discovered that the election was a hoax because there was a valid Lagos State High Court judgment, which stated that Chief Solomon Aguene will stay till 2026 as President.

The latest scam against Chief Sunday Ossai is to bring Paul Okechukwu as Committee Chairman from Professor Obiozor’s faction to conduct another inauguration in order to justify the money Chief Ossai had paid to the members of the cabals for the election and subsequent inauguration.

This was disclosed by the Chief of Staff to the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Thompson Ohia, who expressed concern and sympathy for  Chief Ossai over his desperation to occupy the non existing Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State President position.

He stated that there was a valid Court Judgment, which proscribed any election into  the Ohanaeze Presidency in Lagos State pending when Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene will finish his tenure in 2026.

Chief Ohia stated that it was unfortunate that Paul Okechukwu allowed himself to be used by members of the cabals, who had held Ndigbo in Lagos State in captivity over the years after he had made several attempts to exort money from Chief Aguene in order not to come to Lagos to do the dirty job.

Chief Ohia explained that through the Consent Judgment pronounced by the Lagos State High Court dated 12th April, 2022, both Chief Ossai, Chief Akubueze,  Paul Okechukwu and other may be liable for Contempt of Court and may be  committed to prison as Form 48 and Form 49 are already before the Court for committal.

Ohia recalled that in the suit filed in 2018 before the Ikeja High Court over the annulment of Ohanaeze Ndigbo election, Lagos State, by a faction led by Chief Mike Chidedelu on behalf of his group against Chief Solomon Ogbonna’s faction, asking the Court to reinstate and recognized his faction, was finally resolved with terms of settlement as Consent Judgment before the Court.
Part of the judgment included, apart from Chief Solomon Ogbonna, who was retained as the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, other Executive members elected with him were dissolved and fresh election was ordered for the vacant positions by the Court.

The Court also ordered that the factions be merged and they were eligible to contest for the elective positions that were declared vacant for the conduct of the election as announced by the President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna.

The Court directed that the Electoral Committee set up by Chief Solomon Ogbonna led by Chief Oliver Akubueze be retained and conduct election for both the Local Government and State Executives except the position of President with the bylaws of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State.

However, Chief Akubueze insisted that he must conduct elections for the post of President and his Committee was subsequently dissolved and election of Ohanaeze Ndigbo executives was postponed and was yet to be conducted.

Ohia stated that the election will be conducted very soon as the Ohanaeze has done the harmonization as ordered by the Court and new executive will emerge very soon.
