The Apex Igbo organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State led by the amiable President, Chief Solomon Aguene, has stated that the group has concluded plans to install Ezendigbo in Ikeja as it has successfully inaugurated its Ohanaeze chapter at the weekend.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Aguene disclosed this at the Police College during the inauguration of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ikeja chapter, as Mazi Chukwuma Abuson emerged as the new Chairman.
Aguene, who attended the inauguration with members of his Executives, congratulated all members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Ikeja for the inauguration, which he described as liberation of Ndigbo in the area.
He noted that over the years, members of the cabals within the Igbo circle in Ikeja had been holding the Igbo hostage, that no neutral person will come in as Chairman except the one they appointed.
He stated that the jinx has been broken following the determination and resilience which led to the emergence of the new executives in Ikeja chapter.  He assured them that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Executives will give them every support they need and that was why he attended the inauguration with his Executives.
Aguene stated that having successfully inaugurated the Executives, the next stage will be the installation of Ezendigbo in Ikeja, who will work for the welfare of Ndigbo in the area.
“Today, God has given me power to liberate Ndigbo in Ikeja. In no distance time, I shall install an Eze that will be taking care of Ndigbo in Ikeja and not the one that will be collecting food from them or using them for photographs and video coverage in order to collect money from the Lagos State Government and individuals” he said.
Chief Aguene explained that the era of intimidation and oppression of Ndigbo by the disgruntled elements within the Igbo circle has passed, stressing that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State is fully focused on the welfare of Ndigbo especially the less privileged among them.
He explained that the welfare of Ndigbo is his top priority and he has agreed with his Executives to effect the project by touching the lives of Igbo people in the State.
He further assured that the Welfare Committee has been tasked to move across the Local Government areas to get the details of the widows, jobless, the sick and those who really need assistance and his administration will work towards assisting such people by using available contacts from wealthy individuals and Lagos State Government to do so.
