Wrong Route

It is a known fact that a wrong direction cannot lead to right destination. For the right results, we must use the right tools. There is no way one’s labour will not be in vain when he lacks adequate knowledge concerning the technical know how to make it a success. The problems in Nigeria are birthed by the ENTHRONEMENT of misfits to fix and lift the nation above the average height of success.

A position of authority does not revolutionize mentality. An idiot elevated to the position of authority will remain an idiot and will wrongly discharge his duty selfishly, siphoning and misappropriating the funds therein to satisfy his anemic position of thought and wants. Ballot box does not have the magical wand to translate one’s foolishness to wisdom after winning an election. Neither does it have the abracadabra to turn a thief into a saint as he or she assumes position of authority. It is the fit for the job that can fix the malodorous detritus, excreted by past and present political Hushpuppies.
It is abysmally and disgustingly out of point for a Central Bank Governor to talk about redesigning currencies, (which will consume huge budget), in a nation where the economy, unity and safety of the people are on a life support machine. A nation that finds it difficult to service external debt and meet up with her obligations to the citizens. Such action can be correlated with the repainting of a sinking ship in order to prevent it from sinking.
His presentation lacks merits, sincerity and positive direction. One could assume foul play underneath the formation of this unholy intention. Our roads, public schools and health centres are in a state of comatose; our farms are being washed away by flood after bad herdsmen have drastically reduced crop farming with killing, raping and kidnapping of farmers. What a Central Bank Governor in collaboration with the President could come up with is to spend our funds on redesigning currency notes. What a misplaced priority! The changing of banknotes designs was done in 1984 under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for the same reason. And nothing changed! This is a total waste of public funds in a harsh, life threatening and suffocating period as we have these days in Nigeria.
How can we be pursuing rat when our houses are on fire? Round pegs on square holes has become a tradition in our nation. In the same vein, as a result of misplaced priorities, recovered stolen funds that ought to be used judiciously for the benefits of our societies were shared to some individuals in the public in peanut sizes while we remain neck deep in external debt. Why are the funds not used to set up industries in order to reduce the rate of unemployment and crime? Why are they not used to set up world class hospitals in every Local Government area for good health care availability and proximity to the public? Why are the funds not used to build and renovate schools to create a better learning environment for our future leaders?
In most cases, recovered stolen funds are being cornered by Government officials, who shoulder the responsibility to share it to the public. And it was in the news that some recovered funds were allegedly stolen by an EFCC official, who ought to protect the money in question. What a paradox! Recovered Stolen Funds Stolen By The Salvager.
Good governance equals good management of public wealth and the protection of lives and properties of citizens. Good management of public wealth is the ability to wisely defend and invest public resources in order to maximize its strength of production for future expansions and benefits. There must be efficient financial control measures to regulate the cash flow movements in a nation. With an effective control mechanism, the overall cash inflows and outflows are monitored and planned for general interests. Not selfish interests!
Nigeria leaders are always getting ready to prosper our societies in their speeches but work against the prosperity through selfish actions.
In a sane society, the general public would stop their leaders from driving recklessly the vehicle of their collective future. Therefore, we must embrace our interrelated structure of reality and persistently rise to stop our public vehicles drivers from reckless driving for when the vehicle of our collective future crashes, we shall crash along.
Note: When good people hide under the mud of fear, an armed robber will be their king.
