Ojodu Mayor, Odunmbaku Opens Correct Connect Africa Foundation Office

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, yesterday officially opened the Correct Connect Africa Foundation Office with its African Cultural Learning Centre while he also launched the Sankofa Youth Journal at its new facility in Omole Estate, which was established to showcase and promote the learning of African history and culture.

The Mayor, who was the guest of honour at the ceremony, said the establishment being in Ojodu would deepen the knowledge of history and culture amongst the people but also create an avenue for lovers and learners of African history to converge for the purpose of showcasing and learning about cultural heritage in a refreshing and creative way.

Hon. Odunmbaku said, “The opening of the African Cultural Learning Centre is timely. It provides the opportunity to promote an education that is lacking especially amongst young people about our roots and cultural heritage as there had been concerns in many quarters about the erasure of history in our schools and lack of avenues to offer the learning of history and culture as it is so integral to our identity and ideology as people”.

“We are aware of the importance and impact of this Learning Centre in our community and the purpose it would serve in not just enlightening people but also in creating an avenue for recreational learning and a place of convergence for history and culture.”

“I am humbled and glad to be part of this making of history as we open this establishment for the learning of our history and culture while also using this opportunity to implore our people especially youths to take advantage of this Cultural Learning Center to gain the knowledge about African history and culture” he finally said.

In attendance at the opening ceremony and exhibition were history and culture enthusiasts from all walks of life and the kitchen cabinet of the Ojodu LCDA Mayor as led by the Chief Of Staff, Mr Dapo Adeoye.
