There are strong indications that the police seem to be facing challenge on how to recover part of the money the notorious billionaire kidnapper, Evans obtained from victims as ransom as not much money was reportedly found in his bank accounts and his house.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Evans operated five bank accounts in Nigeria in different banks but the total money in the accounts was said to be about N138,000 only, which the banks in question have reportedly confirmed.

The Nnewi-born Evans admitted that he obtained ransom in both Naira and foreign currencies when he was paraded in Lagos.
But it seems difficult to believe and he cannot claim that it was all the money he had before he was arrested because of the status of his victims and the amount he confessed he obtained as ransom from them.
This has given suspicion within the police circle and the public that Evans still had some hidden facts he was hiding from the police and the public.

“Apart from the physical things such as houses and vehicles recovered, the police was yet to locate where he kept his money” police sources said.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that to recover the money has been a serious challenge to the police who were said to be  working assiduously to unravel where he kept the money.
Police sources told P.M.EXPRESS that  Evans was still hiding something and said apart from physical properties such as his houses and jewelries, no foreign currency has been recovered from him and he has not disclosed the facts concerning the money.

The source said it was part of the decision of the police authorities to fly him to Abuja to enable them carry out proper investigation on his activities and possibly locate where he kept the money.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered from some people who knew that the money has not been recovered that such huge amount of money cannot be deposited at the banks therefore the police should investigate whether he hid the money underground or someone kept the money for him.
Evans who was described as an intelligent criminal who evaded police arrest for over five years before he was finally arrested with some members of his gang by the Intelligence Response Team, IRT led by Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Abba Kyari.

Evans and his gang members also confessed and made certain revelations on their activities which the police were said to be working on.
However, part of the confessions and revelations were not certainly where he kept the remaining balance apart from the money he spent in buying choice properties in Nigeria and abroad.

When our correspondent contacted the Force Police Public Relation Officer, FPPRO on phone over the matter to know whether the police had made any head way over the money, his phone was switched.
