There is no gainsaying the fact that billionaire businessman Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano is fast exerting his presence in the Nigerian economy. Within some years, the Kano-born founder of A A Rano Group has been able to nurture his conglomerate into a multi-billion naira business empire that cuts across various sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Rano is not done yet as he is still looking to blaze into a new industry. Early this week, the billionaire announced his new interest in the aviation business with the birth of his Rano Air.

The business mogul has acquired five brand new EMB-145LRs aircraft to start operations before year 2022 ends while he has set up plans to gradually increase the fleet to accommodate more Nigerians flying more routes.

The news of his move from oil trading to air transport has excited so many Nigerians who see the businessman as an honest capitalist. They believe Rano’s businesses are always blessed and thrived for his considerate business practices.

The oil magnate is famous for always refusing to increase the pump price of petrol at his over 120 filling stations across the country whenever there’s scarcity or industry-wide gouging.

The coming of his new airline has been seen as a great addition to the Nigerian Aviation industry and economy as a whole. Besides, the model of aircraft he acquired uses less aviation fuel, which means it would be easier to operate and air tickets might become affordable.
